Oil Cooler: Installation

    NOTE: Inspect the gasket and surfaces for contamination prior to installation. Lubricate the gasket with clean engine oil.
  1. Position the oil cooler and a new gasket and install the bolt.
    • Rotate the cooler clockwise until the locating pin hits the stop.
    • Tighten the bolt to 60 Nm (44 lb-ft).
  2. NOTE: Lubricate the gasket with clean engine oil.
  3. Install a new oil filter and gasket until the seal makes contact.
    • Using an oil filter strap wrench, tighten the filter an additional 270 degrees.
  4. Connect the 2 coolant hoses to the oil cooler.
  5. Fill the engine with clean engine oil.
  6. CAUTION: The cooling system filling and bleeding procedure must be followed exactly or damage to the engine can occur.
