Pinpoint Test Purpose

To verify PSCM DTC U0300 is present and provide diagnostics if DTC U0300 is currently active in the PSCM.

  1. Z1: REFLASH AND VERIFY THE PSCM DTC 
    • Ignition ON, engine OFF.
    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, make sure the PSCM is programmed (flashed) to the latest level of software. Follow all diagnostic scan tool instructions.
    • Clear the PSCM DTCs.
    • Ignition OFF.
    • Wait at least 90 seconds for the modules to completely shut off.
    • Carry out the PSCM self-test.
    • Is DTC U0300 present and active in the PSCM? 
      Yes No
      INSTALL a new EPAS gear.
      REFER to POWER STEERING SYSTEM .
      ORDER a replacement EPAS gear and INCLUDE the RVC on the form.
      If this is a Ford paid repair, INCLUDE the RVC on the warranty claim form.      		 If the PSCM does not list DTC U0300, DISCONTINUE this test and REFER to the DTC Chart for direction.
