Fuel Pressure Regulator: Turbo

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Disconnect fuel pump connector located under rear floor mat. Reconnect negative battery cable. Start and run engine a few seconds in order to bleed off fuel pressure. Stop engine and disconnect negative battery cable.
  2. Reconnect fuel pump connector. Disconnect the test cover bolt and attach Multipressure Tester (49 9200 750). See Fig 1 . Reconnect negative battery cable and start engine.
Fig 1: Testing Pressure Regulator Attach Multi-Pressure Tester (49 9200 750) as shown.

  3. Connect a jumper wire between pressure regulator solenoid valve terminal "LO" of Orange connector and ground. See Fig 2 . Check fuel pressure at idle. Pressure should be about 37 psi (2.6 kg/cm2 ).

  4. Remove Jumper wire and observe fuel pressure. Pressure should be about 28 psi (2 kg/cm2 ). If not, replace pressure regulator.
