Power Window Motor

  1. Disconnect the motor lead. See WINDOW REGULATOR & MOTOR  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  2. Disconnect the regulator mechanism from the motor.
  3. Supply power to motor lead connector with an ammeter in series. See Fig 1 .
  4. Operate the motor and observe the current draw. The current draw for the no-load test should not exceed 4 amps and should not fluctuate. Reversal of the motor wire connections should reverse the direction of motor rotation. Replace the motor if the current draw exceeds 4 amps.
