Keyless Entry System: Self-Diagnostics: Operation
CPU transmits an output device operation signal to keyless unit. Keyless unit then transmits signals to CPU to activate output devices. Self-diagnostic function first checks operation of output devices from keyless unit-to-CPU and CPU-to-output devices (door locks, trunk, interior light and panic system components). Self-diagnostic function then checks if CPU has detected a present failure, then indicates failure by sounding a buzzer in CPU.
Output devices are checked every 3 seconds when keyless unit transmits a signal to CPU and CPU in turn activates components in the following order.
- LOCK - All doors unlock
- UNLOCK (driver door) - Driver door unlocks
- UNLOCK - All doors unlock
- TRUNK - Trunk lid unlocks
- INTERIOR LIGHT - Interior light illuminates
- PANIC - Horn sounds intermittently and, headlights and hazard lights flash.
