Test No. 1

  1. Turn ignition on. Check POWER WIND fuse (30-amp) in joint box, near left kick panel. If fuse is blown, replace fuse (repair wiring if necessary). If fuse is okay, go to next step.
  2. Measure voltage at Red/Blue wire terminal of main switch connector. If battery voltage does not exist, repair Red/Blue wire between fuse and main switch.
  3. Disconnect main switch connector. Check continuity between ground and Black wire terminal of main switch connector. If continuity exists, reconnect main switch connector and go to next step. If continuity does not exist, repair Black wire between ground and main switch.
  4. Measure voltage at indicated wire terminals of main switch connector with main switches in specified position. Refer to the POWER WINDOW MAIN SWITCH CIRCUIT TEST  . If battery voltage exists at all terminals, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist at all terminals, check main switch. See MAIN SWITCH TEST  under COMPONENT TESTS.
  5. Measure voltage at indicated wire terminals of sub-switch connectors with main switches in specified position. Refer to the POWER WINDOW SUB-SWITCH CIRCUIT TEST  . If battery voltage exists at all terminals, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist at all terminals, repair wiring between main switch and sub-switch.
  6. Measure voltage at indicated wire terminals of window motor connectors with main switches in specified position. Refer to the POWER WINDOW MOTOR CIRCUIT TEST  . If battery voltage exists at all terminals, check window motor. See WINDOW MOTOR TEST  under COMPONENT TESTS. If battery voltage does not exist at all terminals, repair wiring between main switch and window motor (driver's window), or between sub-switch and window motor (except driver's window).
