Ignition Timing: A/T

Connect New Generation Star (NGS) scan tool to data link connector 2 located under left side of instrument panel, right of steering column. See Fig 2 . Ensure idle speed is correct. See IDLE SPEED & MIXTURE .
Connect timing light to engine. Check timing. See Figure . See IGNITION TIMING SPECIFICATIONS table. If ignition timing is not within specification, check distributor installation. Distributor cannot be rotated to adjust ignition timing.

⁽¹⁾	Place automatic transmission in Park.

⁽²⁾	Connect a jumper wire between terminals TEN and GND of data link connector. See Fig 3 .
