Generator Warning Light

- Verify that the battery is fully charged.
- Charge if necessary.
- Verify that the drive belt deflection/tension is within the specification. (See DRIVE BELT INSPECTION
.)
- Adjust if necessary.
- Turn the ignition switch on and verify that the generator warning light comes on.
- If the warning light does not illuminate, inspect the harness from ignition switch to generator warning light and from generator warning light to 3U terminal of PCM. If the generator warning light and harnesses are normal, replace the PCM.
- Confirm that the generator warning light goes off after starting the engine.
- If the generator warning light does not go off, inspect the on-board diagnostic system service code. (See ENGINE CONTROL SYSTEM OPERATION INSPECTION [BP, BP WITH TC] .)
