Test Procedure

NOTE: Turn off all electrical loads prior to performing test.
CAUTION: If accelerator pedal is pressed for more than 5 seconds while brake pedal is pressed, transaxle could be damaged. Perform test procedures within 5 seconds of each other.

Connect a tachometer to vehicle. Access RPM PID using scan tool. Start engine. Shift gearshift lever to "D" position. Firmly depress brake pedal with left foot, and gently depress accelerator pedal to floor with right foot. When engine speed no longer increases, quickly read RPM on tachometer and release accelerator pedal. Shift selector to "N" position. Allow engine to idle for one minute or more to cool ATF. Perform same test for "R" position, "2" position and "L" positions. Stall speed should be about 2000-2400 RPM. ATF temperature should be 140-158°F (60-70°C). If stall speed is not as specified, see STALL SPEED EVALUATION .
