Self-Diagnostic System: Introduction

NOTE: Before testing transaxle, ensure fluid level is correct. Ensure engine starts with gearshift lever in "P" and "N" position to ensure proper adjustment of transaxle range switch.

Check for MIL or O/D OFF indicator light illumination with ignition switch in ON position. If either MIL or O/D OFF indicator light is illuminated, check PCM for DTCs. See RETRIEVING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES . If neither MIL or O/D OFF indicator light is illuminated or DTCs are not stored in PCM, see SYMPTOM DIAGNOSIS under TROUBLE SHOOTING.
