Speedometer Test
NOTE:
Tire size, wear and incorrect inflation can affect speedometer reading and odometer measurement.
- Remove instrument cluster. Connect output (SIG) terminal of New Generation Star (NGS) Tester (49-T088-0A0) to terminal 2D (Blue/White wire) of instrument cluster connector. Reconnect instrument cluster connector.
- Turn ignition on. Connect Red wire of NGS tester to positive battery terminal and connect Black wire to ground. Using NGS tester, select DIGITAL MEASUREMENT SYSTEM, and then select SIGNAL SIMULATION. Set the following values:
- LOW LEVEL: 0V
- HIGH LEVEL: 6V
- DUTY CYCLE: 50%
- COUPLING: AC
- Using NGS tester, set FREQUENCY as specified. See SPEEDOMETER VARIATION SPECIFICATIONS table. Press START. Verify speedometer is within allowable range. If speedometer is not within allowable range, replace speedometer.
