Spark Plug Removal/Installation
CAUTION:
- If a spark plug that is not as specified is installed, sealing performance will be deteriorated. Install only the specified spark plug when replacing.
- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Remove the ignition coil. (L3 (with SEI system), AJ engine model) (See IGNITION COIL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Remove the high-tension leads. (L3 (with DEI system)) (See HIGH-TENSION LEAD REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [L3 (with DEI system)] .)
- Remove the spark plug using the plug-wrench.
- Install in the reverse order of removal.
Tightening torque
L3: 10-14 N.m {1.1-1.4 kgf.m, 8.0-10.3 ft.lbf}
AJ: 9-20 N.m {91-204 kgf.cm, 79-177 in.lbf}
