Parking Brake Control Removal/Installation: Notes

  1. Make sure the parking brake pedal is fully released.
  2. Relieve the tension on the parking brake system.
    1. Pull down on the parking brake intermediate cable.
    2. Insert a 4 mm (5/32-inch) drill bit or equivalent retainer in the parking brake control.
  3. Remove the LH splash shield. See SPLASH SHIELD REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .
  4. Remove in order shown in Fig 1.

  5. Inspect all parts and repair or replace as necessary.
  6. Install in reverse order of removal.
