Instrument Cluster: Installation
- If equipped, position the column-mounted gear shift lever to the lowest position.
- Position the instrument and connect the electrical connectors.
- If equipped with an automatic transaxle, install the transmission range indicator.
- Install the 4 instrument cluster screws.
- Position the instrument cluster finish panel, connect the electrical connectors and install the 5 screws.
- Position the instrument panel reinforcement and in-stall the 5 bolts.
Tightening Torque: 11 Nm {1.1 kgf-m, 8 lb-ft}
- Position the instrument panel steering column cover and install the 2 screws.
- Position the hood latch release handle and install the 2 screws.
- Position the center instrument panel finish panel, connect the electrical connectors and install the 2 screws.
- Repower the supplemental restraint system (SRS). See DEPOWERING AND REPOWERING .
- If a new instrument cluster was installed, download the instrument cluster configuration information from the diagnostic tool to the new instrument cluster. See MODULE CONTROLLED FUNCTIONS
.NOTE: If a new instrument cluster is installed, the instrument cluster and powertrain control-module (PCM) require a parameter reset to allow the instrument cluster and the PCM to recognize each other. Failure to carry out the parameter reset to the instrument cluster and the PCM may result in a no start condition on both passive anti-theft system (PATS) and non-PATS vehicles.NOTE: If equipped, the vehicle PATS keys must be programmed to the new instrument cluster. Carry out the parameter reset and key programming procedures. See COMMUNICATION CONTROL SYSTEM .
