Time Lag Test
- Prepare for the mechanical system test. (See MECHANICAL SYSTEM TEST PREPARATION .)
- Firmly apply the parking brake and set the wheel blocks to the front and rear wheels.
- Start the engine.
- Measure the time lag from the N position to the D position.
- Shift the selector lever from the N to D position with the brake pedal depressed.
- Measure the time until the shift shock is felt firmly after shifting.
- Measure the time lag from the N to R position using the same procedure.
- If there is any malfunction, one of the following malfunctions may have occurred:
Condition Possible Cause N to D position shift Longer than specification Line pressure is low ATF leakage from forward clutch hydraulic circuit Forward clutch slippage Shift solenoid A operation malfunction Shorter than specification Line pressure is high Shift solenoid A operation malfunction Forward accumulator operation malfunction N to R position shift Longer than specification Line pressure is low Low and reverse brake slippage Reverse clutch slippage Shorter than specification Line pressure is high Servo apply accumulator operation malfunction Shift solenoid B operation malfunction TIME LAGMeasurement Conditions Specification (s) N to D position shift 0.4-0.7 N to R position shift
