Transfer Removal/Installation: Notes

CAUTION:

• Performing the following procedures could cause an open circuit in the front ABS wheel-speed sensor wiring harness if it is pulled by mistake. Before servicing, disconnect the front ABS wheel-speed sensor and set it aside so that the wiring harness will not be pulled by mistake.

1. Remove front under cover No. 2. (Refer to FRONT UNDER COVER No. 2 REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
2. Remove the front splash shield. (Refer to FRONT SPLASH SHIELD REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
3. Remove the TWC. (Refer to EXHAUST SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
4. Remove the propeller shaft. (Refer to PROPELLER SHAFT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
5. Remove the front crossmember component. (Refer to FRONT CROSSMEMBER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
6. Remove the exhaust manifold (WU-TWC). (Refer to EXHAUST SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
7. Remove the front drive shaft (RH). (Refer to FRONT DRIVE SHAFT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
8. Remove the heat shield.

9. Remove the transfer bracket. (Refer to Transfer Bracket Installation Note .)

10. Remove in the order shown in the graphic.
11. Install in the reverse order of removal.
12. After the engine and transaxle warms up, inspect for oil leakage and transfer operation.
