Starter Removal/Installation: Notes
WARNING:
- Remove and install all parts when the engine is cold, otherwise they can cause severe burns or serious injury.
- When the battery cables are connected, touching the vehicle body with starter terminal B will generate sparks. This can cause personal injury, fire, and damage to the electrical components. Always disconnect the negative battery cable before performing the following operation.
- Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION ).
- Remove the front crossmember under cover. (See FRONT CROSSMEMBER UNDER COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).
- Remove the bolts shown in the figure below and set the oil pipes aside. (AT) (See OIL COOLER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).
- Remove the bolts shown in the figure below and disconnect the clutch release cylinder with the pipe connected. (MT)
- Remove the bolt shown in the figure below and set the ground aside.
- Remove in the order indicated in the figure below.
- Install in the reverse order of removal.
