Telematics Communication Unit Removal/Installation: Notes

WARNING:
  1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal and wait for 1 min or more. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION (US) .)
  2. Remove the following parts:

    3. Front side trim (See FRONT SIDE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    4. Passenger-side decoration panel (See DECORATION PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    5. Glove compartment (See GLOVE COMPARTMENT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    6. Dashboard under cover (See DASHBOARD UNDER COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    7. Passenger-side lower panel (See LOWER PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION (US) .)

  3. Disconnect the connectors.

  4. Remove the wiring harness clip.
  5. Remove the bolts.

  6. Move the telematics communication unit in the direction of the arrow shown in the illustration.
  7. Remove the telematics communication unit and the bracket as a single unit. (See TELEMATICS COMMUNICATION UNIT INSTALLATION NOTE .)
  8. Remove the bolts.

  9. Remove the telematics communication unit.
  10. Install in the reverse order of removal.
  11. If the telematics communication unit is replaced, perform the following procedure.
    1. Switch the ignition ON (engine off) to complete global central configuration (GCC) for the telematics communication unit.
    2. Clear the DTC. (See CLEARING DTC .)
    3. Cancel connected vehicle maintenance mode. (See SERVICE CAUTIONS FOR VEHICLES WITH TELEMATICS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM (US) .)
    4. Perform the telematics communication unit initial setting. (See TELEMATICS COMMUNICATION UNIT INITIAL SETTING .)
    5. Switch the ignition OFF and wait for 15 min or more.
      NOTE:
      • It takes approx. 15 m into complete the communication processing for the telematics communication system.
