Telematics Communication Unit Removal/Installation: Notes
WARNING:
- Handling an air bag module improperly can accidentally operate (deploy) the air bag module, which may seriously injure you. - Disconnect the negative battery terminal and wait for 1 min or more. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION (US) .)
- Remove the following parts:

- Front scuff plate (See FRONT SCUFF PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Front side trim (See FRONT SIDE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Passenger-side decoration panel (See DECORATION PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)

- Disconnect the connectors.
- Remove the wiring harness clip.
- Remove the bolts.
- Move the telematics communication unit in the direction of the arrow shown in the illustration.
- Remove the telematics communication unit and the bracket as a single unit. (See TELEMATICS COMMUNICATION UNIT INSTALLATION NOTE .)
- Remove the bolts.
- Remove the telematics communication unit.
- Install in the reverse order of removal.
- If the telematics communication unit is replaced, perform the following procedure.
- Switch the ignition ON (engine off) to complete global central configuration (GCC) for the telematics communication unit.
- Clear the DTC. (See CLEARING DTC .)
- Cancel connected vehicle maintenance mode. (See SERVICE CAUTIONS FOR VEHICLES WITH TELEMATICS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM (US) .)
- Perform the telematics communication unit initial setting. (See TELEMATICS COMMUNICATION UNIT INITIAL SETTING .)
- Switch the ignition OFF and wait for 15 min or more.NOTE:
- It takes approx. 15 m into complete the communication processing for the telematics communication system.
