Telematics Communication Unit Removal/Installation: Notes

  1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION (US) .)
  2. Remove the following parts:
    1. Passenger-side front scuff plate (See FRONT SCUFF PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    2. Passenger-side front side trim (See FRONT SIDE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    3. Passenger-side decoration panel (See DECORATION PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    4. Connectivity master unit (CMU) (See CONNECTIVITY MASTER UNIT (CMU) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    5. Glove compartment (See GLOVE COMPARTMENT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    6. Dashboard under cover (See DASHBOARD UNDER COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    7. Passenger-side lower panel (See LOWER PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION (US) .)
  3. Remove the hose.

  4. Remove the bolts.

  5. Move the telematics communication unit in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure.
  6. Disconnect the connectors.

  7. Remove the wiring harness clip.

  8. Remove the telematics communication unit and the bracket as a single unit.
  9. Remove the bolts.

  10. Remove the telematics communication unit.
  11. Install in the reverse order of removal. (See TELEMATICS COMMUNICATION UNIT INSTALLATION NOTE .)
  12. If the telematics communication unit is replaced, perform the following procedure.
    1. Switch the ignition ON (engine off) to complete global central configuration (GCC) for the telematics communication unit.
    2. Clear the DTC. (See CLEARING DTC .)
    3. Cancel connected vehicle maintenance mode. (See SERVICE CAUTIONS FOR VEHICLES WITH TELEMATICS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM (US) .)
    4. Perform the telematics communication unit initial setting. (See TELEMATICS COMMUNICATION UNIT INITIAL SETTING .)
    5. Switch the ignition OFF and wait for 15 min or more.
NOTE:
  • It takes approx. 15 min to complete the communication processing for the telematics communication system.
