Telematics Communication Unit Removal/Installation
- Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION .)
- Remove the following parts:
- Console side panel (See CONSOLE SIDE PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Switch panel (See SWITCH PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Cup holder (See CUP HOLDER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Selector lever knob (See SELECTOR LEVER COMPONENT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Shift panel (See SHIFT PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Front console box (See FRONT CONSOLE BOX REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Side wall (See SIDE WALL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Rear console (See REAR CONSOLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Remove the bolts.
- Remove the bracket A.
- Remove the ground bolts.
- Remove the ground.
- Remove the bolt.
- Remove the nuts.
- Remove the wiring harness clip.
- Disconnect the connectors.
- Remove the telematics communication unit and bracket B as a single unit.
- Remove the bolts.
- Remove the telematics communication unit from bracket B.
- Install in the reverse order of removal.
- If the telematics communication unit is replaced, perform the following procedure.
NOTE:
- If there is no contract with Connected Service, perform Steps (1) to (5).
- Switch the ignition ON (engine off) to complete global central configuration (GCC) for the telematics communication unit.
- Clear the DTC. (See CLEARING DTC .)
- Cancel connected vehicle maintenance mode. (See SERVICE CAUTIONS FOR VEHICLES WITH TELEMATICS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM .)
- Perform the activating remote control by smart phone. (See ACTIVATING REMOTE CONTROL BY SMART PHONE .)
- Perform the telematics communication unit initial setting. (See TELEMATICS COMMUNICATION UNIT INITIAL SETTING .)
- Switch the ignition OFF and wait for 5 min or more.NOTE:
- It takes approx. 5 min to complete the communication processing for the telematics communication system.
- Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on) and wait for 1 min or more.NOTE:
- It takes approx. 1 min to complete the communication processing for the telematics communication system.
- Launch the diagnostic assist function. (Refer to the [DIAGNOSTIC ASSIST FUNCTION [CONNECTIVITY MASTER UNIT (TYPE-B) (US)] ] in the service information.)
- Select [Service Information] on the diagnostic assist function initial screen.
- Select [TCU Linked Information] on the [Service Information] screen.
- Verify that the remote service flag in the [Remote Service Flag Information] indicates [1] as shown in the figure.
- Switch the ignition OFF.
