Telematics Communication Unit Removal/Installation: Notes
NOTE:
- There are two types of telematics communication units, type A and type B.
- The type of the telematics communication unit can be determined using the following procedure.
- Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on).
- Select [Settings] from the home screen of the center display.
- Select [System Settings] on the [Settings] screen.
- Verify that the [Connected Services] item is displayed on the [System Settings] screen.
- Type A: The [Connected Services] item is not displayed.
- Type B: The [Connected Services] item is displayed.
- Disconnect the negative battery terminal. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [(US)] .)
- Remove the following parts:
- Passenger-side front scuff plate (See FRONT SCUFF PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Passenger-side front side trim (See FRONT SIDE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Passenger-side decoration panel (See DECORATION PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Connectivity master unit (CMU) (See CONNECTIVITY MASTER UNIT (CMU) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Glove compartment (See GLOVE COMPARTMENT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Dashboard under cover (See DASHBOARD UNDER COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
- Passenger-side lower panel (See LOWER PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [(US)] .)
- Remove the hose.
- Remove the bolts.
- Move the telematics communication unit in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure.
- Disconnect the connectors.
- Remove the wiring harness clip.
- Remove the telematics communication unit and the bracket as a single unit.
- Remove the bolts.
- Remove the telematics communication unit.
- Install in the reverse order of removal. (See Telematics Communication Unit Installation Note .)
- If the telematics communication unit is replaced, perform the procedure after the telematics communication unit replacement. (See Procedure after Telematics Communication Unit Replacement .)
