Decel Shutoff Test
- Warm engine up to operating temperature. Increase engine speed to 2500 RPM and maintain constant RPM and actuate microswitch manually. If engine RPM fluctuates, check adjustment of gate lever. If not, go to step 2).
- Using volt/ohmmeter, check resistance of microswitch. At idle speed resistance should be 0. If idle circuit is cancelled resistance should read to infinity. If not okay, replace microswitch. If okay, go to step 3).
- Connect Test Cable (102 589 04 63 00) to controlling element. Set volt/ohmmeter to read mA. Increase engine speed to approx. 2500 RPM and release controlling element. Amperage should read at least 45 mA. down to the point when restarting speed is approx. 900 RPM. Direction of current is negative to positive. If test is okay, end of test. If not, go to step 4).
- Check RPM signal (TD) on ECU terminal 25 (Green/Yellow) with engine running. Set volt/ohmmeter to read volts. Voltage should be approx. 8.5 volts. If not, repair short in circuit. If OK, go to step 5).
- Check wiring between ECU and controlling element for continuity. Resistance should be 0. If not, repair short in circuit. If test is OK, replace ECU.
