Testing Function Of ABS Indicator Lamp

  1. If Green lamp lights, ABS indicator lamp lights and digital readout is between .4-1.5 volts system is good. Go to TEST 15. If ABS indicator lamp does not light and digital readout is lower than .4 volts or higher than 1.5 volts go to step 2).
  2. Check ABS indicator lamp for being defective, replace as necessary. Check wire from plug socket (13a) of hydraulic unit (terminal 7) to 35-pole multiplug (terminal 29) of electronic control unit for interruption. Check diode in plug socket (13a) of hydraulic unit for interruption, repair as necessary.
  3. If ABS indicator lamp extinguishes upon renewal of hydraulic unit with the ignition switched on and the engine not running, also replace electronic control unit due to damage that occurs when the diode in the hydraulic unit fails.
