Testing Internal Resistance Of Speed Sensor

  1. Depress push buttons "VL", "VR" and "HA" one after another. After pushing each button, read value on tester. If Green lamp lights and digital readout is 1.1-2.3 kohms for front and .6-1.6 kohms for rear, system is okay. Go to TEST 11.
  2. If readout is lower than 1.1 kohms or higher than 2.3 kohms for the front axle and lower than .6 kohms or higher than 1.6 kohms for the rear, go to step 3).
  3. Check for poor contact at coaxial plugs or cable connector. See Figure. Pull off both coaxial plugs and test harness to electronic control unit. Check for interruption in harness and repair as necessary. If system is okay, replace respective speed sensor.
