Update Software for Keyless-Go Control Module

This Service Campaign has been initiated because Daimler AG (DAG), the manufacturer of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, has determined that on the subject vehicles, the software of the control module for the Keyless-Go function does not correspond to the current series production configuration. It is possible that the vehicle cannot be unlocked or started using the Keyless-Go function. To correct this condition an authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer will update the Keyless-Go control module software at the next dealer visit.

Prior to performing this Service Campaign:

Please check VMI to determine if the vehicle is involved in the Campaign and if it has been previously repaired.
Please review the entire Service Campaign bulletin and follow the repair procedure exactly as described.

Approximately 31,837 vehicles are affected.

PROCEDURE

NOTE:

Use DAS/Xentry 07-08/15 with add-on 4766 or higher.
Follow the steps exactly as described in DAS/Xentry.
Connect battery charger (battery voltage >12.5V).
Ensure all electrical consumers are switched-off.
In the event of software/SCN update issues, contact Star Diagnosis User Help Desk. Please refer to the "pre-call" check list before contacting UHD
Refer to Star Diagnosis System (SDS) Best Practices Guide.

Update software for KEYLESS-GO control module:
Control units view -> Body -> KG -> KEYLESS-GO -> Adaptations -> Control unit update -> Update of control unit software then follow on-screen instructions.
Perform SCN coding in KEYLESS-GO control module:
Control units view -> Body -> KG -> KEYLESS-GO -> Adaptations -> Control unit update -> Update of SCN coding then follow on-screen instructions.

The following allowable labor operation should be used when submitting a warranty claim for this repair:
