Key On, Engine Off Test

Turn key on, but do not start engine. Watch voltmeter for code pulses which should appear within 30 seconds. Ignore any initial surge of voltage. Record code(s).

NOTE: If voltmeter does not pulse, but shows steady high or low readings, see test 14 (4 and 6 cylinder) or 29 (V8).
