Security Mode

The keyless entry system is equipped with a security mode that protects the vehicle from invalid entry attempts. If more than 15 buttons are pressed consecutively without entering the personal entry code correctly, the system will enter a security mode for about six seconds. The beeper and the keypad will not operate and the keypad will not accept any inputs during this time.

If more than 35 buttons are pressed after this sequence, the system will enter a second security mode for about 30 seconds. The beeper and the keypad will not operate and the keypad will not accept any inputs during this time. After the second security mode has been activated, the system will only accept the next seven keypad inputs. If the next seven inputs do not contain the personal entry code, the system enters another 30 second security mode. The system will repeat this procedure until the personal entry code is entered.
