Mirrors - Power: Testing

  1. If the 15-amp CIGAR fuse is okay, go to step 4). If fuse is not okay, go to next step.
  2. Replace 15-amp CIGAR fuse and turn ignition on. If fuse fails again, go to next step. If fuse does not fail, go to step 4).
  3. Unplug interior fuse panel connector. Disconnect remote control mirror switch. Measure resistance between Blue/White wire at fuse panel connector and ground. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair Blue/White wire. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, go to step 4).
  4. Disconnect remote control mirror switch. With ignition on, measure voltage on Blue/White wire at remote control mirror switch connector. If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step. If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair Blue/White wire between interior fuse panel and remote control mirror switch.
  5. If resistance between Black wire at remote control mirror switch and ground is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair Black wire.
  6. Measure voltages at remote control mirror switch as specified in SWITCH POSITION VOLTAGES (SWITCH CONNECTOR) table. If voltages are correct, go to next step. If voltages are not as specified, replace remote control mirror switch.

  7. Locate remote control mirror motor connectors. Operate switch. Measure voltages at remote control mirror motors as specified in SWITCH POSITION VOLTAGES (MOTOR CONNECTOR) table. If voltages are as specified, replace mirror motor(s). If voltages are not as specified, repair appropriate wire(s).
