Temperature Sending Unit Test

Remove sending unit from engine. Place sending unit in container of water. Heat water to 176°F (80°C). Measure resistance between sending unit terminal and case. Resistance should be 49.3-57.7 ohms. If resistance is not as specified, replace sending unit.
