Coolant Temperature Switch

  1. Unplug connector from coolant temperature switch, located near thermostat housing. With coolant temperature less than 200°F (93°C), continuity should exist between ground and coolant temperature switch.
  2. Start and warm engine until coolant temperature reaches 212°F (100°C). Check for continuity between ground and coolant temperature switch terminal. Continuity should not exist. If continuity is not as specified, replace switch.
