Before diagnosing problems in ignition system, ensure following systems and components are in good condition and operating properly:

• Battery.
• Timing belt or chain.
• Fuel delivery and injection system.
• All wiring and vacuum connections.
• Air cleaner and ducts.
• Cooling system.
