Ignition System - TFI-IV: Overhaul: Disassembly
- Scribe mark on housing, shaft, and drive gear for reassembly reference. Using a pin punch, remove drive gear roll pin. Using press, remove drive gear. Deburr and polish shaft with emery cloth and wipe it clean.
- Pull out distributor shaft. Remove octane rod retaining screw. Remove TFI-IV ignition module screws and module. Wipe off dielectric compound. Remove octane rod assembly.
- Remove stator attaching screws, retaining ring, and stator assembly. Inspect bushing for wear or damage. If bushing is damaged, replace distributor housing. Inspect distributor housing and "O" ring for cracks or damage. Replace if necessary.
