Calibration Number Identification: Notes
To identify the engine calibration number, locate the engine code label at the front of the engine. Although there are several label styles, the engine calibration number is shown on each. See Fig 1. Calibration codes will begin with a number indicating the current model year. For example, calibrations listed for 1986 Ford vacuum diagrams begin with "6". Each vehicle is also equipped with an emission control data decal applying to that vehicle and its engine. See Fig 2. These decals are usually located on the underside of the hood, or other visible engine compartment location.
