The reed valve is actuated by exhaust vacuum being generated from pulsation in the exhaust manifold. Extra air is supplied into the exhaust manifold through secondary air control valve. The secondary air control valve is opened by the intake manifold pressure when the solenoid valve is energized by the ECU based on the information on coolant temperature, engine speed and idle position.
