Fuel Gauge: Notes

  1. Disconnect wiring connector at fuel gauge sending unit inside of luggage compartment. Attach ohmmeter leads between connector terminals. Resistance should be 7 ohms. If not, remove instrument cluster. Attach ohmmeter leads across fuel gauge terminals on back of instrument cluster and measure gauge resistance. SeeFigure .
  2. Resistance should be 55 ohms. If resistance is low, check for shorted fuel gauge coil. If resistance is high, check for open wire to gauge coil.
