Throttle Position Sensor

  1. Turn ignition switch to "OFF" position. Disconnect Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) connector. Using an ohmmeter, check resistance between terminals No. 1 and 3. See Figure . Resistance should be 3.5-6.5 ohms.
  2. Connect an ohmmeter across terminals No. 1 and 2. As throttle valve is slowly operated from closed to wide open throttle, check meter. Resistance should make a smooth transition from closed throttle to fully open position.
