Trouble Shooting
- Is battery in good condition?
- If Yes, then go to next step.
- If No, then charge or replace battery.
- Is generator drive belt in good condition?
- If Yes, then go to next step.
- If No, then adjust belt tension or replace belt.
- Does charging warning light brightly when ignition switch is turned ON?
- If Yes, then go to next step.
- If NO, then:
- Check ignition switch.
- Check for burnt-out charging warning light.
- Check generator.
- Check charging warning light-related circuits.
- Does charging warning light go out after starting engine?
- If Yes, then go to next step.
- If No, check generator.
- Is an oscilloscope available?
- If Yes, go to next step.
- If No, then go to step 7.
- Does Oscilloscope show normal wave pattern?
- If Yes, then go to next step.
- If No, then check generator.
- Engine: 2,500 r/min. Headlight: ON (HIGH BEAM). voltage between generator terminal B and positive battery terminal. OK: 0.5V or less. Are generator output line and ground line in good condition?
- If Yes, then go to next step.
- If No, check generator output line and ground line.
- Is output current normal?
- If Yes, then go to next step.
- If No, check generator.
- Is regulated voltage normal?
- If Yes, then go to next step.
- If No, check generator.
- Is voltage drops in generator output line normal?
- If Yes, generator is normal. Check other systems.
- In No, then check output line.
