The Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) is designed to prevent wheel lock-up during heavy braking. This allows operator to maintain steering control while stopping vehicle in shortest distance possible. Major components are wheel speed sensors, brakelight switch, toothed rotors, ABS Electronic Control Unit (ABS ECU), Hydraulic unit integral to Hydraulic Brake Booster (HBB) and ANTI-LOCK warning light. ABS self-diagnostic system monitors ABS indicating system malfunctions if detected, self-diagnostic system can also be used in system trouble shooting.
