Magnetic Switch Return Test
WARNING:
Be careful not to get your fingers caught when pulling out the pinion.
CAUTION:
To prevent coil from burning, DO NOT apply voltage to starter assembly for more than 10 seconds.
- Disconnect field coil wire from "M" terminal of the magnetic switch.
- Connect a 12-volt battery between "S" terminal and "M" terminal.
- Pull pinion out and release. If pinion quickly returns to its original position, everything is in order. If it doesn't, replace magnetic switch.
