Warning Screen

When malfunctions occur to the vehicle, the following warning screens are displayed. If these screens are not displayed normally or if they continue to be displayed even after the factor is eliminated, take measures according to the action procedure.

FASTEN SEAT BELT Displayed when the electric motor switch is turned ON without the driver's seat belt fastened. - Displayed when the vehicle-travelling-ahead is decelerating too much, another vehicle interrupts your lane, or your vehicle is too close to the vehicle-travelling-ahead due to poor deceleration on downhill while the ACC is in progress. If the warning screen is not displayed normally or if the screen continues to be displayed, check the ACC DTC. Refer to CHECK CHART FOR DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES .

ACC SERVICE REQUIRED Displayed when the ACC system has some abnormality.

ACC CANCELLED Displayed when ACC stops due to one of the following conditions.
  • When the ASC is turned off.
  • When ABS or ASC is in operation.
  • When the parking brake is applied.
  • When the selector lever is in the "P", "R" or the "N" position.
  • When the driver's seat belt is unfastened.
  • When the driver's door is opened.
  • When the ACC no longer detects any vehicle in front while it is in the stationary vehicle hold state.
  • When the vehicle is stationary for 10 minutes or more.
  • When the system detects the vehicle sliding down a slope.
If the warning screen is not displayed normally or if the screen continues to be displayed, check the ACC DTC. Refer to CHECK CHART FOR DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES .
ACC NOT AVAILABLE NOW Conditions for the start of control are not met, the ACC cannot start the control.
ACC OUT OF SPEED RANGE The ACC cannot start the control because the speed is out of speed range.
ACC NO FORWARD VEHICLE The ACC cannot start the control because not detected the approach of the vehicles in front.
ACC TEMPORARILY NOT AVAILABLE RADAR BLOCKED The ACC is not available temporarily such as for adhesion of contaminants to the sensor. This is not a malfunction.

ACC SERVICE REQUIRED There is a fault in the adaptive cruise control system (ACC). If the warning screen is not displayed normally or if the screen continues to be displayed, check the adaptive cruise control system (ACC) DTC. (Refer to CHECK CHART FOR DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES .)

APPLY BRAKE
  • If the vehicle-travelling-ahead stops during the ACC operation, your vehicle will also stop automatically. When the driver does not depress the brake pedal under this condition, this icon will appear.
  • Displayed when the brake is released (the auto hold function is deactivated). (In normal way, when the ASC fluid pressure is reached, the EPB controls the brake. However, this icon is displayed when the parking brake cannot be applied due to a EPB failure.)
PUSH SWITCH WHILE APPLYING BRAKE Displayed when the switch is operated without depressing the brake pedal while the brake auto hold function is deactivated. If the warning screen is not displayed normally or if the screen continues to be displayed, check the ASC DTC. (Refer to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART .)
- LANE DEPARTURE A message will appear when the system enters the warning condition. If the warning screen is not displayed normally or if the screen continues to be displayed, carry out the troubleshooting for the LDW. (Refer to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART .)

LDW SERVICE REQUIRED Displayed when the LDW system is defective.

BSW TEMPORARILY NOT AVAILABLE Displayed when any of the conditions below is satisfied.
  • Abnormal internal temperature in the ECU
  • The sensors in the ECU are out of permissible temperature range
  • The sensor in the ECU receives noise.

BRAKE SYSTEM SERVICE REQUIRED Displayed when the brake fluid amount is insufficient or a malfunction occurs to the brake device. If the warning screen is not displayed normally or if the screen continues to be displayed, check the brake fluid or brake device. Refer to BLEEDING .
RELEASE PARKING BRAKE Displayed when the electric parking brake is activated during driving If the warning screen is not displayed normally or if the screen continues to be displayed, check the parking brake. Refer to TROUBLE SYMPTOM CHART .
PARKING BRAKE ENGAGED When any of the conditions below is satisfied while the auto hold function holds the vehicle stationary, the electric parking brake will be activated.
  • The oil pressure is held for at least ten minutes.
  • Unfasten the seat belt (driver's side).
  • Open the door.
  • The system detects the movement of the vehicle.
  • Electric motor switch: OFF

  • The driver operates the brake auto hold switch.
  • The electric parking brake fails
  • The ASC fails

BRAKE AUTO HOLD NOT AVAILABLE Displayed when the system cannot be resumed to a stand by mode although the driver operates the brake auto hold switch under any of the conditions below:
  • The electric parking brake fails
  • The brake auto hold function fails

PROPULSION POWER IS REDUCED Displayed when drive limitations are activated as the main drive lithium-ion battery charged level is low or the plug-in hybrid EV system is too hot or cold. If the warning screen is not displayed normally or if the screen continues to be displayed, perform the troubleshooting for the BMU, Main drive lithium-ion battery (Refer to INSPECTION CHART FOR DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE ).

BATTERY TOO COLD Displayed when the temperature in the module reduces to -30°C (86°F) or less.
BATTERY TOO COLD PLUG IN NORMAL CHARGER TO WARM The main drive lithium-ion battery is extremely cold temperature. The Plug-in Hybrid EV System will not start until the main drive lithium-ion battery is warm enough. Even if the main drive lithium-ion battery is full charge, connect EV charging cable (normal charger). Then, the main drive lithium-ion battery warming system is operated, the main drive lithium-ion battery is automatically warmed up. While the main drive lithium-ion battery warning system is operating, "BATTERY TOO COLD" will be displayed. If the warning screen is not displayed normally or if the screen continues to be displayed, perform the troubleshooting for the BMU, Main drive lithium-ion battery (Refer to INSPECTION CHART FOR DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE ).
BATTERY TOO COLD FOR VEHICLE TO OPERATE The main drive lithium-ion battery is extremely cold temperature. If the warning screen is not displayed normally or if the screen continues to be displayed, perform the troubleshooting for the BMU, Main drive lithium-ion battery (Refer to INSPECTION CHART FOR DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE ).

APPLY BRAKE WHILE SHIFTING The selector lever has been operated when the select position is in "P" (PARK) position and the brake pedal is not depressed. Operate the selector lever while depressed firmly on the brake pedal.

EV MODE NOT AVAILABLE BATTERY CHARGE LOW
  • Displayed when certain vehicle conditions do not allow the system to enter the EV mode although the driver operates the switch.
  • Displayed when the engine is running.
If the warning screen is not displayed normally or if the screen continues to be displayed, perform the troubleshooting for the PHEV-ECU (Refer to TROUBLE SYMPTOM CHART ).
EV MODE NOT AVAILABLE CRUISE CONTROL SET EV priority mode is not available because the cruise control or the Adaptive Cruise Control System (ACC) is operating.
