Work Procedure

  1. SAVING UPS CONTROL UNIT DATA (VEHICLE SPECIFICATIONS) 
    NOTE: Save necessary data stored in UPS control unit in CONSULT according to the following instructions:

    SYMBOL CONSULT

    1. Ignition switch OFF.
    2. Ignition switch ON.
    3. Select "Re/programming, Configuration".
    4. Select "UPS/DAST 3".
      NOTE: If "UPS/DAST 3" is not displayed and UPS control unit data cannot be saved on CONSULT, GO TO 3.
    5. Select "Programming".
    6. Save UPS control unit data on CONSULT according to the CONSULT display.

    GO TO 2.

  2. REPLACE UPS CONTROL UNIT 
    1. Ignition switch OFF and wait for 10 seconds.
    2. UPS control unit is malfunctioning. Replace steering column assembly. Refer to Removal and Installation .

    GO TO 3.

  3. WRITE UPS CONTROL UNIT DATA (VEHICLE SPECIFICATIONS) 
    NOTE: Write data saved in CONSULT into a new UPS control unit according to the following instructions:

    SYMBOL CONSULT

    1. Select "Programming".
    2. Perform programming according to the CONSULT display.

    Inspection End.
