Fuel Injection System - Diesel: Overhaul: Injectors: Disassembly

  1. Remove injectors from engine. Remove and discard copper sealing washer from tip of injector using a pair of diagonal cutters. DO NOT  damage nozzle tip. Remove all loose dirt and carbon.
    CAUTION: Parts of each nozzle assembly are preset and calibrated to meet certain specifications. DO NOT  mix up nozzle components.
  2. Unscrew inlet fitting from body. Press nozzle tip assembly out of body. DO NOT  damage nozzle tip. See Fig 1 .

  3. Slide retainer sideways to release retainer from valve. Remove spring seat and spring. Press valve from spray tip.
