Automatic Unlocking Feature Does Not Operate

  1. Disconnect multifunction alarm module connector C1. Module is located behind left side of instrument panel, near steering column. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Unlock door locks. Connect jumper wire between alarm module connector C1 terminal "N" (Brown wire) and voltage. If power door locks unlock when jumper is connected, go to next step. If power door locks do not unlock when jumper is disconnected, repair open circuit in White wire at DR UNLK fuse.
  2. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Position gear selector lever in Drive position. Measure voltage between alarm module connector C1, terminal "J" (Orange/Black wire) and voltage. If battery voltage is not present, go to next step. If battery voltage is present, check Orange/Black wire for a short to ground. If wire is okay, replace park/neutral position switch.
  3. Repeat step 2) with gear selector in Park. If battery voltage is present, replace multifunction alarm module. If battery voltage is not present, check Orange/Black and Black/White wires for an open circuit. If wiring is okay, check park/neutral position switch adjustment. If adjustment is okay, replace switch.
