Engine Coolant Temperature Gauge Malfunctioning

  1. Using scan tool, monitor PCM. If engine coolant temperature signal is correct, go to next step. If engine coolant temperature signal is incorrect, see appropriate TESTS W/CODES article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE section:
  2. Using scan tool, monitor BFC SPI serial data bus. If engine coolant temperature signal is correct, replace instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT PANEL article. If engine coolant temperature signal is incorrect, perform an instrument cluster WOW. If engine coolant temperature signal is still incorrect, replace BFC. See REMOVAL & INSTALLATION  .
