Optimum Pump Timing

Injection pump timing may be modified if engine lacks performance or misses and is accompanied by exhaust smoke during cold start/warm-up. Only change pump timing after valve clearances, engine compression, and injector nozzles have been checked. Timing can be reset to .045" (1.15 mm) for non-turbo models or .019" (.48 mm) for turbo models.
