Fuel Pressure
CAUTION:
Constant fuel pressure is maintained in fuel lines and component parts at all times. Relieve pressure before attempting to open system for testing. Do not allow fuel to flow onto engine or electrical parts or allow an open flame in area while testing fuel system components.
- Relieve fuel system pressure. Using a tee, connect a pressure gauge to fuel rail. Start engine, or locate fuel pump relay under dash near clutch pedal. Using jumper wire, connect terminal Nos. 2 and 5. Fuel pressure should be 34.8-37.7 psi (2.4-2.6 kg/cm2 ).
- Disconnect vacuum hose on pressure regulator. Using a vacuum pump, apply 7.5 in. Hg to fuel pressure regulator. Fuel pressure should drop to 27.8-30.7 psi (1.9-2.1 kg/cm2 ).
