Ignition Impulse
- With ignition off, disconnect ECU connector. Connect a voltmeter to harness connector terminal No. 1. Turn ignition on. On non-turbo models, voltmeter should read 12 volts. If not, check for 12 volts at negative terminal of ignition coil.
- On Turbo models, remove distributor cap and line any slot in Hall Effect rotor with front of signal generator. Turn ignition on. Voltmeter should read less than one volt. Place a .02" (.50 mm) feeler between rotor slot and signal generator. Voltmeter should now read 8 volts. If voltage reads are not found, check wiring continuity or ignition system.
