Throttle Opener System: Operation
If engine speed sensor detects engine RPM at or below specified speed, solenoid valve opens, allowing intake manifold vacuum to throttle opener. Throttle valve is slightly opened by throttle opener and opener lever located on throttle valve shaft. Engine will then operate at a different speed according to throttle valve opening. If a heavy load condition is not present, throttle opener system does not operate and engine runs at normal speed.
