Throttle Position Sensor: Code 5

  1. Disconnect throttle position sensor connector. Check resistance between terminals No. 1 and 3. See Fig 1 . Total resistance should be 3500-6500 ohms.
  2. Attach ohmmeter between terminals No. 1 and 2. Operate throttle valve from closed to wide open throttle. Ensure resistance changes smoothly throughout entire range. If not to specification, replace TPS.
