Engine Controls - Sensor Operating Range Charts: Introduction

Sensor operating range information is supplied so that if a sensor is out calibration, it can be determined. A sensor that is out of calibration may not set a trouble code; however, it may cause driveability problems.

NOTE: All voltage tests should be performed with a digital volt-ohm meter (DVOM) with a minimum 10-megohm input impedance, unless specifically stated otherwise in testing procedures.

For testing, disconnect sensor electrical connector with key off. Connect an ohmmeter lead to one of the sensor connector terminal. Connect other ohmmeter lead to remaining sensor connector terminal. See appropriate sensor specifications table. If readings from sensor are not within specification, replace sensor.

NOTE: Sensor informations not covered in this article can be found in the appropriate G - TESTS W/ CODES article in this section.
